Web maps / Web GIS

With the web technologies of the 21st century it is now possible to realize new interactive information applications. Digital maps are an excellent tool for this, because they help to orientate and make the complex interrelationships of a globalised world comprehensible.

While the use of GIS has so far been reserved for specialists, tailor-made Web GIS applications make the processing of geoinformation accessible to a broad public.

The customer decides on the degree of expansion of an application from case to case: Little functionality for explicit tasks or many of functionality to freely process different tasks. In any case, users are not overwhelmed with unnecessary elements.

The possibilities of Web GIS are almost endless and not limited to the pure representation of objects on maps.

You may:

  • constantly present and publish up-to-date information - e.g. with hazard maps
  • Mark locations and add files - e.g. for vegetation mapping with pictures and documents
  • use interactive graphics to illustrate complex topics and connections - e.g. in political campaigns
  • document temporal changes and make them liveable - e.g. with an animation of forest development
  • perform complex spatial calculations - e.g. extrapolation of pollutants from measurements and other input data
  • enable users to collect/edit information, cooperatively and according to a defined scheme - e.g. the occurrence of pathogens
  • describe entire situations on site and share them with partners in real time - e.g. with situation plans in crisis situations
